Privacy policy

This policy explains what personal data this website collects, why, and what rights you have over it, in line with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018. For the rules covering use of the site itself and any account on it, see our terms of use.

Who we are

Athos Intelligence Consultancy (“A.I.C”, “we”, “us”) is a sole-trader web design consultancy based in England, and is the data controller for this website. You can reach us at ewan.hutch@outlook.com or +44 7874 068367.

What we collect, and why

This site uses no cookies and no advertising or cross-site tracking technology. It does use privacy-friendly visitor analytics, described below. The only personal data we collect is what you choose to give us through the contact form: your name, email address, and the message you write.

We use this solely to reply to your enquiry. We do not use it for marketing, profiling, or automated decision-making, and we don’t sell or rent it to anyone.

Our lawful basis for processing this data is our legitimate interest in responding to enquiries about our services (UK GDPR Article 6(1)(f)) — and, if that enquiry leads to a project, to take the steps you request before entering into a contract (Article 6(1)(b)).

Visitor analytics

We use Vercel Web Analytics to count page views and see which pages are read. It sets no cookies, stores nothing on your device, and does not follow you across other websites. It records the page visited, referring site, and coarse details such as country, browser and device type.

No profile is built and you are not identified. Vercel derives a short-lived, one-way hash from the incoming request to tell repeat views apart within a single day; it cannot be reversed to an IP address and is discarded daily. Our lawful basis is our legitimate interest in understanding whether the site works and which pages are useful — assessed as low impact precisely because the data is aggregate and non-identifying. Browser “Do Not Track” and blocker settings are respected.

We’d also like to use Microsoft Clarity to see how visitors move around the site. Unlike Vercel Analytics above, Clarity sets cookies (_clck, _clsk) to do this, so it only runs if you accept the banner shown on your first visit. Decline, or ignore it, and Clarity never loads and no cookie is set. Our lawful basis is your consent, which you can withdraw at any time by clearing your browser’s site data for this domain. site works and which pages are useful — assessed as low impact precisely because the data is aggregate and non-identifying. Browser “Do Not Track” and blocker settings are respected.

How your message reaches us

Depending on how the site is configured at the time, the contact form does one of two things:

• sends your message to us via Resend, an email-delivery service that processes the message on our behalf as a data processor; or
• opens a pre-filled email in your own device’s mail app, addressed to us — in this case the message goes directly from your device to our inbox, and no third party handles it on the way.

This website is hosted on Vercel, which, like any web host, automatically logs technical information (such as IP address and request timing) for security and reliability. We don’t access or use these logs beyond that purpose.

International transfers

Resend, Vercel (including its analytics) and Microsoft (Clarity, if you accept it) may process data on servers outside the UK and European Economic Area, including in the United States. Where that happens, it’s covered by their own compliance mechanisms (such as the UK International Data Transfer Addendum or Standard Contractual Clauses), which you can review on their respective websites.

How long we keep it

Enquiry emails are kept for as long as needed to respond to you and for a reasonable period afterwards in case of follow-up — normally no more than 24 months, unless it leads to a signed agreement, in which case it’s retained as part of that project’s records for as long as UK tax and contract law requires.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR, you have the right to:

• ask what personal data we hold about you, and get a copy;
• ask us to correct inaccurate data;
• ask us to delete your data;
• ask us to restrict or object to how we use it;
• receive your data in a portable format, where technically feasible; and
• complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) if you think we’ve mishandled your data.

Security

We take reasonable technical and organisational steps to protect the personal data we handle — including relying on reputable, encrypted infrastructure (Vercel, Resend) rather than storing enquiry data in our own systems beyond what’s needed to reply.

Children

This site and its services are aimed at business owners, not children. We don’t knowingly collect data from anyone under 18.

Changes to this policy

If what this site collects or how it’s used changes — for example, if analytics is added later — this page will be updated and the “last updated” date above will change accordingly.
